Groups of pro-Palestinian protesters closed down a span of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and blocked an entrance to O'Hare International Airport in Chicago on Monday.

The demonstrations were one of many being held across the country today by a group calling for America to stop sending munitions to Israel and calling for an end to military action in Gaza.

The protest snarled traffic approaching one of O'Hare Airport's terminals, forcing many travelers to exit their vehicles and walk through traffic with their luggage to reach the building.

O'Hare sent out an alert warning travelers to expect substantial traffic delays due to the protest.

Along the Golden Gate Bridge, protesters could be seen sitting down with their hands in barrels, which seemed to be filled with either dirt or cement.

Police responded, working to get protesters' arms free from the barrels.
