A Nashville man has been convicted of first-degree murder in the slaying of his girlfriend.
Freda Medlin, of Nashville, was killed on Sept. 1, 2005. Her body was found in a ditch alongside a road.
Passersby thought Medlin had been hit by a car, but authorities said she was shot.
James Stallings confessed to the shooting, authorities said.
