N. Roxboro Street reopens after deadly motorcycle crash in Durham

A person died in a motorcycle accident Wednesday night in Durham.

According to the Durham Police Department, the accident happened around 9:28 p.m. on North Roxboro Street and Rippling Stream Road.

EMS crews said the driver of the motorcycle died at the scene.

Durham police said a man was riding a Suzuki GSX S-750 motorcycle when he collided with a GMC van making a left turn from N. Roxboro Street onto Rippling Stream Road.

The man riding the motorcycle was not identified in a release from Durham police. The driver of the van was not hurt.

Both directions of North Roxboro Street between Seven Oaks Road and Latta Road were closed for several hours.

The details of the accident and those involved are currently unknown.

The investigation is ongoing.
