N.C. State seeks safecrackers

This man is being sought by the North Carolina State University police in connection with two break-ins on campus on June 29, 2008.

North Carolina State University police on Tuesday asked for public help in identifying two men who broke into one safe on campus and tried to break into a second one on Sunday.

The pair broke into the College of Veterinary Medicine cafeteria, cracked a safe and stole $1,600, police said. They also broke into the Bragaw Hall convenience store and attempted to get into the safe there. The crimes occurred between 1 and 2 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the men are believed to be driving an old, square-looking vehicle that was light blue or light purple and had skinny tires and big rims or hubcaps.

Crime Stoppers has offered a reward for information leading to their arrests and convictions.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call N.C. State University Police at 919-515-3000.
