The Museum of Life and Science in Durham has some new 10-week classes for homeschool students starting this fall.

The programs run from Sept. 11 to Nov. 13 with sessions for kindergartners to second graders; third to fifth graders; sixth to eighth graders; and ninth to 11th graders.

According to the description on the museum's website: "Through these classes, we foster curiosity in the world around us, and the use of science as a tool for exploring that world. Our educators utilize the museum’s 84-acres of indoor and outdoor learning environments as a platform for inquiry-based and project-oriented activities and carefully promote an environment of discovery using first hand experience as our primary teacher."

The cost ranges between $200 and $385 depending on whether participants are museum members, the age of the child and the length of the class. Registration closes Sept. 6. The museum's website has more information.
