A search for an accused murderer is continuing in South Carolina on Thursday morning.

The Chester County Sheriff's Office said there was a confirmed sighting of Tyler Terry on a highway. Terry is considered armed and dangerous.

Several schools near the border of South Carolina and North Carolina were on lockdown Wednesday afternoon while law enforcement searched.

According to WCNC, Rock Hill High School was under lockdown while law enforcement searched for Terry.

A spokesperson for Rock Hill Schools told WCNC that "a heavy law enforcement presence remains in the area and is assisting with dismissal," after a delay in releasing students to their parents and buses.

Officers have been searching for Terry since Monday. He is accused of shooting at Chester County Sheriff's Office deputies while riding as a passenger in a car that was fleeing from law enforcement.

WCNC reported that based on the search area, Terry is believed to be in a wooded area adjacent to Rock Hill High School and adjacent to Interstate 77 between Fire Tower Road and U.S. Route 21.

The Chester City Police Department has five warrants for attempted murder stemming from Terry's alleged shooting of deputies, and a warrant has also been issued accusing Terry of killing a 35-year-old man in York, South Carolina.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Terry should contact Midlands Crimestoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.
