While the Triangle escaped major flooding or storm damage from heavy overnight rains, remnants from Tropical Storm Sally left many roads underwater.

A Facebook post on the Brunswick County Storm Watch page listed as many as 15 flooded roads, including U.S. Highway 17 in Shallotte, Mount Pisgah Road in Supply and parts of Calabash near the South Carolina line.

A family told WECT news they were driving home to Holden Beach after having dinner in Ocean Isle when they noticed flooded roads around 8:30 p.m. The family said the heaviest flooding they saw was in Shallotte.

"By the time we made it to Main Street the roads were underwater and the rain wasn’t slacking any. Cars behind us started to float after I stopped my video. My dad said this was the worst flash flood he has ever seen here,” said Carly Pyatte.

In Henderson, 2 to 3 inches of rain were reported.
