Motorcyclist runs off road in Wake County, dies after being ejected

A motorcyclist died after running off the road in Wake County on Monday.

The accident happened near Piney Grove Wilbon and Wagstaff roads in Fuquay-Varina around 4:45 p.m.

State Highway Patrol troopers said it appeared the motorcyclist ran off the road, hit a ditch and was ejected.

The name of the motorcyclist was not released pending family notification.
