Motorcyclist killed in crash near Clinton wasn't wearing helmet

A 44-year-old motorcyclist was killed Monday afternoon in a crash near Clinton, according to the State Highway Patrol.

Around 2 p.m., troopers responded to a crash on Wiggins Road near Keener Road.

Officials said an unregistered 1992 Kawasaki motorcycle ran off the road and struck a ditch.

The motorcyclist, Timothy Todd Barefoot, 44, of Dunn, was ejected and died at the scene.

He was not wearing a helmet, according to SHP.
