Motorcyclist critically hurt in Harnett County crash

A motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital Sunday afternoon with critical injuries following an accident in Harnett County.

The accident occurred on the 3200 block of Bailey's Crossroads Road, where a Dominoes pizza delivery vehicle was on assignment and trying to make a left turn.

State Highway Patrol says a Kawasaki cruiser attempted to overtake a delivery car on the left in a no-passing zone at a high rate of speed.

The motorcyclist was thrown from their bike and rolled over by the delivery car.

The motorcyclist was airlifted to WakeMed Raleigh on New Bern Avenue with life-threatening injuries.

The female delivery driver had less serious injuries and was taken to Central Harnett Hospital.

The motorcyclist's tags were incorrect; they had no insurance, and their license was suspended before the crash.
