What to expect at Dreamville Festival 2024

This weekend's Dreamville Festival will have increased food options and better restroom options.

Organizers on Tuesday said improvements for this weekend's event include more than 50 food vendors from across the state and the addition of flushable toilets.

"No more porta potties," Dreamville spokesman Trey Hicks said.

Dreamville Festival is planned April 6-7 at Dix Park in Raleigh. This is the fourth year for the festival, which was created by rapper J. Cole.

Fans will also notice some improvements at both stages, including better sound and lighting, Hicks said. Stage two has been reoriented so fans at various locations can have better visibility.

Dreamville Festival will once again feature local artists with seven murals on site created by North Carolina artists.

The festival has some tickets remaining. It has sold out in previous years.

With record crowds expected over the weekend, festival organizers have worked with the city to expand the downtown shuttle program to increase the number of vehicles available to transport festival goers to the park.

The festival announced a major lineup change on Monday with 50 Cent and Hunxho replacing Chris Brown and Muni Long, who festival organizers said could no longer perform due to unforeseen circumstances.

"We found out recently and had to quickly pivot," Hicks said.

Dreamville Festival 2023 had $145 million economic impact

Looking back at last year's festival, organizers said the two-day event helped create an economic impact of more than $145.9 million in Wake County. The largest impact was seen in the hotel space with about $20 million spent and food and beverage which saw more than $18 million spent.

The 2023 festival attracted 100,000 attendees from 50 states and 23 countries across four continents.

Dreamville was originally a one-day festival, but expanded in 2022 to include two days of music and entertainment.
