Mordecai Historic Park lines up free Friday, fairies market

Moredecai Historic Park near downtown Raleigh has a couple of events coming up this week. Mordecai is a Raleigh park that features a collection of historic buildings that were moved to the property, including the birthplace of President Andrew Johnson.

Here's what's happening:

Friday, Aug. 27, is Free Friday at Mordecai Historic Park. The public is invited to take a free tour of the park. Tours begin on the hour and half-hour and are limited to 12 people per tour. There is no required registration. Tours run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are usually $7 per adult and $4 for kids. Children 6 and under are free.

And Away With the Fairies Market at the park is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 28. The event is free and includes crafts and activities and opportunities to meet local makers, food vendors and independent businesses. Fairy or fantasy attire is encouraged. 

Moredecai is at 1 Mimosa St., Raleigh.
