Just after 1 a.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a house fire on Pine Lake Drive in Whispering Pines. When crews arrived, smoke and flames could be seen coming from the home.

A Moore County home went up in flames Monday morning.
Just after 1 a.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a house fire on Pine Lake Drive in Whispering Pines. When crews arrived, smoke and flames could be seen coming from the home.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and remained on scene to put out hot spots.
There was extensive damage to the rear of the single-story house.
WRAL News is working to learn the cause of the fire.
