Middle Creek baseball rallies for big inning in win over Millbrook
Middle Creek baseball shook off an uncharacteristic losing streak with its biggest offensive outburst in nearly two weeks.
The Mustangs pushed across five runs in the fourth inning of their opening game at the Bobby Murray Invitational, and it was enough to secure them a 5-2 win over Millbrook.
Ryan Morris kept the Wildcat bats quiet for the better part of five innings as he yielded only two hits, and an unearned run on the bump. The Middle Creek southpaw also struck out four.
Freshman, Casey Murray came out of the pen and let up just one run as he hammered down the final six outs of the victory.

Millbrook broke through in the third inning, but its lead was short-lived.
Kieran Medeiros slashed a single the opposite way to start the bottom of the third, and from there, the Wildcats manufactured the game's first run. Mason Fortune would ground into a fielder's choice to plate Medeiros' courtesy runner C.J. Bennett for a 1-0 advantage.
The Mustangs answered back with consecutive singles to start the fourth.
Braylon Stewart and Wyatt Lytle's courtesy runner Dillon Astudillo would both score on wild pitches to take the lead, 2-1.
Will Tobin provided the big blow with an opposite field single to bring two more around. After batting around, and picking up one more run on a bases loaded walk, Middle Creek led 5-1 through four.
The Wildcats chipped into the deficit in the sixth against Murray. Jack Strom crushed a triple to the wall in center, and scored on Connor Wright's sacrifice fly a batter later.
Conner Thomas and Jake Williard combined for 2.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen for Millbrook. The tandem allowed just two hits and struck out four.
