Rocky Mount police arrested two 21-year-old men after staff at a country club said they drove off in a golf cart without permission Saturday afternoon.

Staff at The Course at Northgreen told police they gave Jaime Riveria Laureano and Brant Allan Jacobs permission to drive the cart for a short distance. Instead, the men drove away into the Northgreen neighborhood while employees chased after them, staff said.

Police found Jacobs and Laureano on foot outside the Rite Aid store, at Goldrock and Benvenue roads. The golf cart was found on Dare Court and returned to the club.

Laureano and Jacobs were both charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. They were being held in the Nash County Jail Sunday under separate $1,000 bonds.
