Surveillance photos show a gunman wearing a skeleton mask and another carrying a knife who robbed a CVS store, at 2103 T.W. Alexander Drive, of drugs, cigars and cigarettes Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009.

Durham police asked for the public's help in solving last week's robbery of a CVS store on T.W. Alexander Drive by two armed men, one of whom wore a skeleton mask similar to one in a popular '90s horror movie.

Investigators said that two masked men entered the CVS, at 2103 T.W. Alexander Drive, near Page Road on the Durham-Wake county line, around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18.

One man carried a handgun with a dirty tennis ball stuck over the end of the barrel, police said. The second carried a curved, serrated knife.

The gunman approached an employee and demanded specific types of drugs. The men left with drugs, cigars and cigarettes. Officers said they might have fled in a silver vehicle.

Police described the gunman as a black man standing 5 feet 6 inches tall. He wore a black jacket, hooded sweatshirt, white sneakers and dark gloves. He also wore a skeleton mask similar to one shown in the "Scream" horror flick and its sequels in the 1990s.

The robber carrying a knife was described as a black man. He wore red, knitted skit mask, dark clothing and a black baseball cap with the letter "P" on it.

Anyone with information about the robbers was asked to call Investigator K.D. Emanuel at 919-560-4415, ext. 235, or Crime Stoppers at 683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.
