Marine charged in Jacksonville homicide

Police have charged a Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune with murder in a shooting death early Friday.

Benjamin Marisic, 24, of 713 Savannah Drive, was being held without bond in the Onslow County jail.

Police said Dale Smith was found dead at Marisic's home shortly before 4 a.m. No other details were released about the shooting.

Smith, 39, of Crestview, Fla., was a civilian contractor at the Marine base, police said.
