Marbles hosts kick-off to kindergarten this weekend

Marbles Kids Museum is hosting its annual "Kick-off to Kindergarten" event on Saturday.

The event, which runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., is open to all rising kindergartners at traditional schools. Year-round schools are already in session for the year.

Event admission and museum admission are free for rising kindergartners and their families. Pre-registration for timed entry is required.

This event is designed to help prepare students for school by helping them practice some of the activities they will be doing.

Activities will include:

• Practicing a lunch line
• Hopping on a school bus
• Learning how to cross the street at a crosswalk
• Practicing attending classes like PE, music and a morning meeting
• Learning about the importance of hydration
• Trying out some typical school day play
