'Mandalorian' star shares secrets from the set

Whether you love "Star Trek," "Star Wars" or just want to take a trip back to some 1990s nostalgia with Zack Morris himself, GalaxyCon has you covered.

The four-day fan convention will return to the Raleigh Convention Center July 28-31. As with previous years, there will be a mix of vendors, celebrity guests, panels and more fun.

Organizers plan to return the event to full capacity this year. Last year's event was scaled back with tabletop gaming and a reduced amount of tickets available due to COVID-19. GalaxyCon was not held in person in 2020 due to the pandemic.

The celebrity guest line-up includes a mix of 1990s nostalgia with stars from "Clerks" and "Saved by the Bell" on tap to appear, plus one of the stars of "The Mandalorian." Katee Sackhoff, who plays "Bo-Katan Kryze," will be appearing at the event. While the "Star Wars" streaming series doesn't premiere its third season until February, a leaked preview for the upcoming season shows Sackhoff's character talking to everyone's favorite scene stealer, Grogu aka "Baby Yoda."

At last year's GalaxyCon, Moff Gideon aka Giancarlo Esposito spoke with us about season three.

This year's list of celebrity guests include:

  • A Clerks reunion featuring Kevin Smith, Brian O'Halloran. Jeff Anderson, Marilyn Ghigliotti, Jason Mewes, and Trevor Ferhman. Clerks III is due out later this year.
  • A Smallville reunion featuring Tom Welling (Superman/Clark Kent), Erica Durance (Lois Lane), Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor), and John Glover (Lionel Luthor)
  • Star Trek actor and astronaut, William Shatner (Captain Kirk)
  • The Mandalorian’s Katee Sackhoff (Bo-Katan Kryze)
  • Succession and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off actor Alan Ruck
  • Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Brent Spiner (Data)
  • Saved by the Bell actor Mark-Paul Gosselar (Zack Morris)
  • Songwriter, composer, and actor Paul Williams (Writer of Rainbow Connection; The Penguin in Batman: The Animated Series)
  • Wynonna Earp and Schitt’s Creek actor Tim Rozon
  • Seinfeld, The Tick, and Family Guy actor Patrick Warburton
  • Voice of Sesame Street’s Elmo Kevin Clash
  • Rocky Horror Picture Show and Spin City actor Barry Bostwick

Celebrity autographs and photos are not included in admission prices. An additional fee is charged for those items. The prices vary by celebrity.

In addition to celebs, GalaxyCon will also be hosting table-top and video gaming tournaments and free play, costume contests, and Fantasy Super Cosplay Wrestling.

Tickets for GalaxyCon are on sale now.
