Man with gunshot wound killed in Wake County crash

A man was shot Thursday night before he died in a crash on Zebulon Road in Wake County.

Around 9 p.m., the Wake County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash on Zebulon Road near Barham Siding Road, east of Rolesville.

According to investigators, the car ran off the road, hit an embankment, overturned and came to a rest upside down in the road.

Deputies found the driver, 24-year-old Myles Leonell Batts, suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.

A death investigation is underway.
