Man tried to abduct child waiting for school bus in Alamance County, sheriff's office says

Authorities are investigating an attempted abduction that happened in February in Alamance County.

According to the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the attempted abduction happened on the morning of Feb. 12 in the 1700 block of Burch Bridge Road in Burlington.

The sheriff’s office said while the juvenile victim was waiting for the school bus, a white male driving a large white truck waved at the victim.

When the victim waved back, the man stopped, got out of the truck and grabbed the victim’s wrist.

The sheriff’s office said the victim broke free and ran up the driveway. The man returned to the truck and drove away.

The juvenile victim was not injured.
