Man Sought in Rocky Mount Slaying

Police were searching Wednesday for a 24-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to a reported shooting on West Thomas and North Pine streets at about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday and found Johnny Antonio Best had been wounded. Best was taken to Nash General Hospital, where he died.

Warrants were issued charging Dexter Lamar Dunston with first-degree murder in the case.
