Man shot, killed after fight at Mama Rabbits

A man was shot and killed just after 1 a.m. Saturday morning at Mama Rabbits Motor Lounge on N.C. Highway 55 in Wake County.

Investigators with the Wake County Sheriff's Office were on the scene into the wee hours questioning witnesses and possible suspects.

A sheriff's office spokesman said identified the victim as Dana Andrew Lauffer, 50, of Willow Spring. The spokesman said it appeared some people were fighting inside the bar and that trouble moved outside, resulting in Lauffer's death.
