Man shot in the back on Spruce Street in Hillsborough

Hillsborough police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Thanksgiving in the central part of town.

Just after 7 p.m., police responded to UNC Hospital's Hillsborough campus, where a man had admitted himself for a gunshot wound to the back.

Investigators have learned that a 33-year-old Burlington man was shot on Spruce Street. He is in stable condition.

The shooting is believed to be an isolated incident, and police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
