Man shot his wife, himself in Orange County

Two people were found dead Tuesday after a man called 911 to report he was planning to shoot his wife and then himself, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies found the man and woman in a car on Rippy Lane near Hillsborough after the man called and stated his plans around 9:15 a.m.

The two were identified as William K. Flinn, 77, and Lisa N. Flinn, 71.

Although deputies were dispatched shortly after he call, the couple was already dead.

“This is a tragic situation, as is any loss of life," said Sheriff Charles Blackwood. "We feel great sadness for the family members of Mr. and Mrs. Flinn. We hope community members will allow them privacy as they process their loss.”

There is no ongoing threat to the community, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
