One person shot at Raleigh community center, suspected shooter hurt in crash

One person was shot Thursday night at the Sanderford Road Community Center, according to Raleigh police.

Around 8:45 p.m., officers responded to the the 2600 block of Sanderford Road, where they saw a Jeep speeding away from the community center.

Officers tried to catch up with the Jeep, which crashed on Evers Drive near Keith Drive.

The Jeep's airbags deployed, and debris and shoes could be seen in the street.

The driver, whose role in the shooting remains unknown, was seriously injured and transported to a hospital.

While police were at the scene of the crash, a man with a gunshot wound checked in to a local hospital in serious condition.

A suspect has not been identified.
