Man shot and killed on Pamalee Drive in Fayetteville

A man was found shot to death early Saturday morning on Pamalee Drive in Fayetteville.

At 3:59 a.m, officers responded to a 911 call for shots fired along the 1700 block of Pamalee Drive.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man, later identified as 42-year-old Sterling Koren Whitted of Fayetteville, had been shot. Whitted was pronounced dead on scene.

This is an active investigation.

WRAL News is working to learn if police have a suspect in custody.

Less than an hour later, another man was found shot to death on Tamarack Drive in Fayetteville – less than three miles away.
