Man seriously injured in Southern Pines crash

A man was seriously injured after a single-vehicle accident in Southern Pines early Thursday.

The man was pinned under an SUV that had overturned on Midland Road near US Highway 1.

Firefighters used hydraulic powered rescue tools to free him.

The man was airlifted to a trauma center.

Another man, who was driving the SUV, was taken into police custody.
