“I was walking out with my family … [I] heard some yelling, so I walked closer, and at that point … someone was kicking the man,” Noah Anderson, a bystander who recorded the aftermath of the attack on X (formerly Twitter), said.
Anderson said another group told her the man was punched in the face, which knocked him out.
According to Anderson, some fans held back two men wearing Rangers attire while others tried to contact medics and police officers.
On Monday afternoon, a Raleigh police spokesman said they were aware of an assault, but that no arrests had been made.
“Both of the teams’ fans were very tense, so it was probably a fight that got out of hand,” Anderson said.
WRAL News reached out to the wife of the man who was injured, but she said she was not ready to speak publicly about the attack.
