Man pleads guilty to girlfriend's murder

A Franklin County has been sentenced to more than 15 years in prison for fatally shooting his girlfriend in April, authorities said.

David Bishop, 24, pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree murder in the April 19 slaying of Gabrielle Reece.

Reece, 19, was shot in the head at a house just south of Louisburg. When authorities responded to the shooting, they found Bishop and another man trying to dispose of her body.

Bishop was sentenced to 189 to 236 months in prison.
