Man killed while crossing Western Boulevard near Pullen Park

A man died Monday trying to cross Western Boulevard in Raleigh near Pullen Park.

The crash occurred before 7 a.m. at the Ashe Avenue intersection.

According to a wreck report, the victim, identified as David Paul Miller, was not walking in a crosswalk when a car rounded the curve and struck him.

Eastbound lanes of Western Boulevard, headed into downtown, were closed while authorities cleared the scene.
