23-year-old man found inside car dies from gunshot wound

A man was killed early Sunday in a shooting in Goldsboro.

Around 12:15 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department were patrolling the area of Elm Street and Creech Street when they heard several gunshots.

Officers responded to a home located at 1005 Norman Street, where they found 23-year-old Brandon Jones suffering from a gunshot wound inside his car outside the house.

Officials said Jones died from his injuries at the scene.

The incident is under investigation.
