Man killed in Zebulon wreck

A 26-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on N.C. Highway 96 outside Zebulon Saturday evening, according to the state Highway Patrol.

State troopers said that Alex D. Valladares was behind the wheel of vehicle that ran off the right side of N.C. 96 South, near Fowler Road, struck two trees and came to rest standing on the passenger side.

Valladares was ejected from the vehicle and died of his injuries, troopers said.

He was the only one in the vehicle.
