Man injured in drive-by shooting on US 70 in New Bern

A man was injured in a drive-by shooting Friday on U.S. Highway 70 in New Bern.

At 11:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of U.S. 70 East at the S. Glenburnie Road off-ramp in reference to a gunshot victim.

The victim was traveling on U.S. 70 East when he was shot by someone in another car. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said they do not believe this was a random act of violence.

The suspect(s) were reportedly driving in a black sedan on U.S. 70 East.
