Man found dead inside car in Durham neighborhood

A man was found dead inside a car in a Durham neighborhood early Monday morning, police say.

Multiple police vehicles were at the intersection of Chowan Ave. and Kirby St. as investigators continued to search the area around 8 a.m.

Joshua Garner, 18, of Durham, was found inside a silver car with its doors open and windows smashed. Several evidence markers were seen around the car and crime scene tape surrounded a stretch of the neighborhood road.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

No suspect information was provided.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide. WRAL is working to learn more about this story.
