Man faces kidnapping, statutory rape charges after Wake County traffic stop

A man was arrested Saturday and charged with first-degree kidnapping and first-degree statutory rape.

Wake County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle just before 2 p.m. on I-40 near Jones Sausage Road.

A juvenile in the car was reported missing from Durham.

Following an investigation, authorities charged Preston Malachi Baker, 22, with the two charges. He is due in court on Monday, April 15.
