Man dies in Harnett County fire

One man was killed Friday in a fire outside of of his home in Lillington, authorities said. 

Emergency crews responded to the fire at 911 Kramer Road just before 3:30 p.m in reference to a woods and small structure fire with fatality. 

Authorities said Jesse Scott, 84,  died while burning debris in his yard. A neighbor found Scott unresponsive in an area of burned grass. 

Authorities said the exact cause of death is not known at this time. However, there was no indication of a crime.
