Man, boy injured in crash involving GoRaleigh bus

One person died in a violent crash involving a GoRaleigh bus on Sunday morning in Raleigh.

Raleigh police said the crash happened along Garner Road in front of Christ Our King Community Church.

A man, who was driving a blue Acura sedan, and a boy were injured in the crash. The man died from his injuries. Police have not yet released the man's name.

On Monday, police said the driver of the Acura was going north on Garner Road and approaching the intersection with Peterson Street when he hit a GoRaleigh bus that was making a left turn from Peterson Street onto Garner Road.

The boy was not ejected from the car. One bus rider had minor injuries from glass, according to the police.

The bus driver was cited for failure to yield causing serious bodily injury.

Photos from the scene showed the Acura was badly mangled with debris spread out over the road.
