Man dies after being found shot in vehicle along I-885 in Durham

A man was killed in a shooting along Interstate 885 in Durham on Sunday morning.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a reported shooting on I-885 north near the Ellis Road exit.

Officers found31-year-old Jamarr Parker inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died. Part of I-885 was blocked off for several hours while police gathered evidence.

Deputies said Parker and another person were driving on the interstate when someone in another vehicle shot at Parker's car.

The passenger was not hurt.
