Man critically injured in Fayetteville shooting

A Fayetteville man was critically injured in a shooting at a neighborhood just outside the city limits late Saturday morning, authorities said.

Carlos Manuel Sanchez, 30, was shot in the Shaw Heights subdivision in the 5600 block of Summerwind Drive around 11:15 a.m., said Debbie Tanna, a spokeswoman for the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office. 

Sanchez was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he underwent surgery. He was in critical condition Sunday morning.

More details of the shooting weren't released.
