Man charged with stealing food truck in Wilmington

Wilmington police arrested and charged 24-year-old Joao Vithor De Lara Silva with stealing a food truck.

Officers were called about the theft near 1000 South College Road on Wednesday. Police said the truck was found on Peachtree Avenue soon after. Silva was found trying to get out of the truck’s window.

The food truck’s prep area had significant damage.

Silva was charged with felony larceny of a motor vehicle, injury to personal property and driving while license revoked impaired and is being held under a $50,000 secured bond.
