A man is charged with attempted murder and other crimes after police say he fired several shots on Sunday night outside Wilson Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The nursing home on Crestview Avenue was locked down for hours Sunday as law enforcement officers looked for the suspect.

According to the Wilson Police Department, Camaron Harrison, 26, shot at a previous girlfriend, Samantha Ludeman, 23. After firing several shots at Ludeman, Harrison stole her car and fled the scene.

The Nash County Sheriff’s Office found Harrison and Ludeman’s vehicle in Nash County. Harrison set the car on fire before his arrest.

Harrison was transported back to Wilson and given no bond. He is now facing charges of attempted murder, larceny of a motor vehicle and burning personal property.

Ethel Joyner was shocked that something like this happened in her neighborhood.

"We've lived here a long time and never had anything like this happen,” Joyner said.

The Wilson Police Department is encouraging anyone with information regarding this case to contact them at 252-399-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 252-243-2255.
