Zebulon police arrested a man with a lengthy criminal record in connection with a robbery at a Walgreens store Friday.

Lt. Scott Finch said that a man entered the Walgreens store around 3 p.m., implied that he had a weapon and demanded money. No one was injured in the incident.

Officers arrested Reginald Donnell Sims, 39, a short time later at his 107 E. Barbee St. home, Finch said.

Sims was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of crack cocaine, damage to property, assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer.

Sims has convictions for second-degree rape, robbery with a dangerous weapon, common-law robbery and multiple counts of assault in a criminal record dating to 1989, according to state Department of Correction records.

He has spent more than 13 of the past 20 years behind bars.
