The Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested a man Wednesday morning who was reportedly trafficking 8 kilograms of cocaine, with a street value of about $1.4 million.

Jorge Luiz Meraz-Luna, 31, was charged with trafficking by transportation, trafficking by possession, maintaining a vehicle for sale or delivery of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Meraz-Luna is in the U.S. illegally, authorities said, and will likely be deported if he is convicted.

The sheriff's office wouldn't comment specifically on where Meraz-Luna was arrested or what led to his capture, but investigators said they expect other people to be arrested in connection with this case.
