Man arrested with gun outside Fayetteville elementary school

Fayetteville police arrested a man Wednesday outside an elementary school for having a gun on school property.

Police arrested the man outside of Sherwood Park Elementary School at 2115 Hope Mills Road. The school went on lockdown.

According to police, no shots were fired and officers seized the gun used.
