Man arrested in connection with attempted armed robbery in Wake County

Wake County sheriff's deputies arrested and charged a man Wednesday in connection with an attempted armed robbery from earlier this month.

Keyon Allen Jones, 20, is charged with second-degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and breaking and entering a motor vehicle.

Authorities are holding Jones at the Wake County Detention Center without bond.

On Oct. 2, deputies responded to an attempted armed robbery at 7400 Siemens Road in Wendell. When deputies arrived, the victim reported that two people threatened him with a gun. At one point, there was an exchange of gunfire in the parking lot. The suspects left the scene before deputies arrived.

It's unclear if the sheriff's office is still looking for someone else involved in the attempted armed robbery.
