Man Arrested for 2 Armed Robberies

Greenville police arrested a man charged in two armed robberies and wanted for questioning in connection with a fatal shooting on Friday evening.

On Saturday, police apprehended Jamie Louis Brown, 24, of 1010 Peed Drive in Greenville. He was charged with the armed robbery of Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, 2000 S. E. Greenville Blvd., on Sept. 16.

Greenville police had arrested Brown on Sept. 17 for the armed robbery of a Kangaroo store at 2915 Evans St. on Aug. 8. A clerk was shot in that incident, police said.

Brown's second arrest came after police said they believed he and Jamal Nobles, 25, had information about a gun battle on Friday evening. Terrance Carlnell Vines, 21, exchanged shots with an unknown suspect in the 1900 block of Kennedy Drive around 7:30 p.m. Vines died of gunshot wounds.

Neither Brown nor Nobles have been named suspects in that case.

Brown was placed in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $15,000 bond.
