Man arrested after leading troopers on high-speed, multi-county chase

Authorities arrested a man on Sunday they say led troopers on a high-speed chase across multiple counties.

According to State Highway Patrol, the chase started in Johnston County and went through Harnett and Cumberland County.

The chase exceeded 150 mph, according to troopers.

The chase ended on I-95 in Cumberland County near mile marker 59 after a black Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Erwin Lawrence Roberts, sideswiped a white BMW.

Roberts was arrested and charged with two counts of felony fleeing and eluding, two counts of felony reckless endangerment, DWI, reckless driving and other charges.

The passengers of the BMW were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
