Man accused of sex with girl 24 years younger

Burlington police arrested a 37-year-old man accused of having sex with a girl 24 years younger than he is.

On Thursday evening, a 13-year-old girl reported to police that she had been raped in a residence on Atwood Drive. Investigators identified the suspect as an occupant of the residence, Brandon Heath Gentry.

Gentry was charged with one count of statutory rape and two counts of sexual offenses with a child. He was being held in the Alamance County Jail Saturday under a $100,000 bond.
