Man accidentally shoots himself after sitting on gun, Raleigh police say

Raleigh police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday, where a man accidentally shot himself.

Police responded around 6:29 p.m. on the 8400 block of Louisburg Rd. to reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, they discovered the man had unintentionally sat on his gun while inside the car, resulting in a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
